Yiddish

Yiddish is the language which began as the dialect of the German language that Jews began to use in Europe about one thousand years ago. It was (and is) used in the United States, especially in New York. In addition to most words of German source, Yiddish has many words from Hebrew and Russian. Yiddish is most often written using Hebrew characters.

In the whole world, Yiddish is spoken by about 4 million Jews. It is mainly spoken by Hasidic Jews.
