Hi Tango, Welcome to Simple! You can find all sorts of useful links on the Useful page. Please add to it if you think anything else would be useful. Angela 12 October 2003, 21:04 (UTC)

Hi! :-) -- Tango

Congratulations! You are now an administrator. Please try to keep an eye on Wikipedia:Administrators#Current issues and the Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress page. You should read the policies before using any of your new sysop abilities (such as deletion and blocking users). You might also find it helpful to read the more developed policies on the English Wikipedia that are linked to from en:Wikipedia:administrators' reading list. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. Good luck. :) Angela 04:51, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Thanks! I'll get reading. -- Tango 11:47, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your Welcome. britty@#wikipedia

Hi, the vote started earlier than I thought it would. Please could you protect the messages listed on Wikipedia:New messages in 1.3/Board vote. I'd rather not do it myself as I am obviously too involved. It might still be useful to simplify them a bit too. Angela 21:13, 30 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

On my way. -- Tango 22:19, 30 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. :) Angela 08:14, 31 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism!

[edit]

Just reporting a jerk named Gracker who's been destroying articles.Wolfj 21:31, 14 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Just to let you know, Tango, i am not reporting vandalism from sock puppets, but it kinda has to do with it. Gracker wants to leave the site, but he dosen't want his name to just be used as a "toy" for other people to use it. Gracker is granting me permission to use his user name. now hear me out, i will follow three simple rules:

                    1.i will not vandalize
2.i will not use Jonesc as long as i am Gracker
3.i will write articles that actually have a meaning to them(unlike amphibian visual cortex)

I only ask one more thing from you, clear Gracker's file so people still won't think i am a vandalist, that is, if you let me become Gracker-Jonesc

Hi Tango!

I don't know how much you are still around Simple English Wikipedia, but I would like your comment on Wikipedia talk:Simple English Wikipedia#Policy issue because you were part of the discussion on Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not and this discussion is directly related. Thanks! --Cromwellt|talk 20:16, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Block of User:212.248.234.8

[edit]

Hi Tango, I've unblocked User:212.248.234.8 per your suggestion. On EN I always wait for at least three or four warnings, I guess I should do the same (albeit with one less warning) here. Thanks for pointing that out! Cheers, Tangotango (talk) 12:50, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator setting

[edit]

In the interests of keeping out admin list somewhat accurate and active, we've asked for your rights on Simple to be backed off. This is not a reflection on you, or your prior work here, which we all appreciate. If you decide to rejoin the project in the future, please feel free to ask for your admin priviliges back. Hope to see you back soon. -- Netoholic @ 18:07, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have started keeping an eye on admin tasks in the last few days (see my log and contribs). It seems you've been having a few difficulties with not having admins online when you need them (although I see a few recent promotions that should help), and I'm happy to check my watchlist here at the same time as checking my en one, and I have the vandalism in progress page watched. Also, there were suggestions that I be excluded from the list, as I'd come back and made myself contactable, making this something of a disputed desysoping... It doesn't really matter to me, I was only trying to help, but you might want to actually get consensus before desysoping people. --Tango 19:23, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
