Thank you. I'll try to be helpful; already begun to do some cleanup after me. --XXN (talk) 13:44, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucrat and Administrator promotion[edit]

I created Disney's Zootopia and make Diamese an autochecked user, bureaucrat, administrator & reviewer Diamese (talk) 13:58, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done.--DCB (talk) 20:19, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure this is a good idea. This user doesn't need these user rights (yes, I know this is a test wiki) and he is indefblocked on enwiki. Matiia (talk) 21:57, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You´re right, it´s a test wiki.--DCB (talk) 09:33, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
But testwiki:Wikipedia:What_Test_Wiki_is_not is valid here too. And the second point is a reason for not giving all people bureaucrat access, because it is much harder to remove it.... Luke081515 12:45, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the bureaucrat rights assigned by him and to him. Savh (talk) 13:05, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucrat promotion[edit]

I created Disney's Zootopia and make Recc0044 a bureaucrat Recc0044 (talk) 08:01, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You get an indefinte block. Best regards, DCB (talk) 13:07, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

I appreciate your proactivity. All the best, --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 15:04, 18 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. :) Best regards, DCB (talk) 12:58, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Where to test Flow?[edit]

First of all, thank you for moving my little bot to Bot group! I'm still testing my client library, and planning to add Flow support into it.

Do you know whether there're Flow-enabled (talk) pages on this site? I've found a lot of Flow threads here, but their parent talk page Talk:Flow QA, seems have been disabled from using Flow.

Administrator Rights[edit]

Hello, I would like to know if you can grant me administration rights on this wiki. I need to test the operation of some gadgets (as MediaWiki:easyPeerReview.js and MediaWiki:Gadget-ReadyAlert.js) that I want to implement in Spanish Wikinews and that require certain rights to use them and to display some options (including a review button on the menu to move, delete, etc.). Although I am already administrator in testwiki, I need to test that with the editor/reviewer rights, the other wiki only has the reviewer. Regards and Thanks.  Done. Best regards, DCB (talk) 13:36, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Editor and Reviewer Rights[edit]

Hello, sorry if my English is not good, since here I can not find a permissions request page, go here. I want to know if I can be allowed copywriter and editor rights so you can collaborate in reviewing the pending changes (see are a lot ') on this wiki, because I would like to learn to use this tool since in the Italian wiki where I work it is not used. Thanks and regards --Samuele2002 (talk) 00:48, 12 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request for sysop privilege[edit]

Hi, I'm still working on some API client library stuff, and intending to test some abusefilter-related API. Could you please put User:XuesongBot into sysop group, or other groups that has access to abusefilter? Thanks.

(I'm planning to create and remove abusefilters via MW API in some unit tests.) It seems that it's destined to fail.

It is not possible to create or modify abuse filters using the API.(mw:Extension:AbuseFilter#API)

Still, may I request for such permission for the bot so that it can test deleting some pages?

sysop rights for your bot for the next six month:  Done --DCB (talk) 12:54, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How we will see unregistered users[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
