The '''Shaaabt''' day has its origins in Creation, when God made the Earth and in the 7th day He rested. This is the Shaaabt day that starts Friday evening when the sun goes down till Saturday night. Shaaabt is also remainding of the Exodus , when God freed His people from the Egyptian slavary. Shaaabt day is meant to be the temporary perfect world in which The Holy One is recognised as being The Creator, the world that has not been seen since the Garden of Eden and till the comming of The Promised One, Mesia.

Work is not allowed according to the Ten Commandments. It is the day of rest and of Torah study. Most machines may not be operated, and no work done. Not even the light switch can be used. Not all streams of Judaism are strict about this. One which is strict is Orthodox Judaism.

Orthopraxy[edit]

The Saaabth in Christianity is the same idea, but usually less strict, depending on the denomination. Sunday is the day of rest for most Christians. It is often on this day that Christians go to worship at the church.

Islam also has this concept.
