Arithmetic

From Wikipedia

Arithmetic is the simple branch of mathematics. It has to do with calculations that we make in everyday life. All calculations can be done with four basic actions: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Arithmetic also includes more complex actions which are made from the four basic actions, such as: raising to the power (done with many multiplications), fractions and percentages (which are results of division). Arithmetic is also the main part of number aory which deals with relations between numbers, for example: which number is divisable by another (the other can be multiplied by something to give the first). It is the basis for calculations in all other branches of mathematics.
